Oranjezicht City Farm Market

Everyone is talking about buying organic from local producers to support the local farmers and inadvertently also the local economy. Well, I found the best place to do this at if you live in or around Cape Town: The Oranjezicht City Farm Market. They are located at the back of the V&A Waterfront and are open every Saturday from 09h00 to 14h00.

They have what is in season and are much cheaper than most upmarket stores - take a whole box of black figs for R60 or a fig tree for R70!

Fruit and vegetables are bounty full and taste like sunshine - so vibrant! The best part is you can pay with your credit card! Take a big basket because you will be buying something.

They also have producers selling goods such as nut butters or Almond milk as above. Any organic product you can imagine!

My favourite was the gelato from MORO. That in itself is worth a visit. It tasted just like the pistachio gelato we had a the Trevi Fountain. Go, do yourself a favour and try it!

The Little One ate half my ice cream and then also enjoyed a giant gingerbread man and all sort of goodies at the food stalls. They have Greek, German, Italian and any other cuisine you can think of on offer.

Then get yourself a seat overlooking the ocean while the sun heats your skin but the cool breeze keeps you fresh. Enjoy. How difficult can this be?
